Caye Caulker, Belize

I got a lucky break and had the amazing opportunity to travel to Belize during my winterterm break at the begginning of 2008 with a school group I'm apart of (SIFE, Student's in Free Enterprise.... feel free to ask more:) ) While in Belize we did manual labor helping set up and pour concrete foundations at two different school locations and then hosted a four day Business Plan workshop. Well after a week of hard work, long days, and endless walking our sponsors felt that we deserved a few days of R&R... so we headed for Caye Caulker, a key right off the coast. Caye Caulker is know for a "take it slow" lifestyle which I admire greatly. Leave it to me to wait till the last day on the island to take the opportunity to put my creativity to use and go around the island to take pictures. My friend, Brie, and I scrambled around the island and tried to capture as much as we could. This picture was one of four I took of this man. At first I just saw him laying on the beached sailboat, face down and I thought that it just captured the feeling of the island. I kept getting closer and as I approached him someone called his name and he looked up and I snapped away!

Here are a few more pictures from the island that day :)
